Settling down

We are finally settling down. Today was the first time since december that I take all my equipment out of the moving boxes. Moving out of state has definitely taking a lot of my time, but we have now settled down and ready to get back to business. In the next few weeks I will work on my marketing in this new market. If you are in the Dallas Forth-Worth area, visit our website www.js-photo.net and feel free to give us a call to schedule a session. All the details are available on the website.

After unpacking I set up my lights in the den and took some new pictures of Julie in her red pyjamas.

FLASHBACK Shannon + Mario

Before the winter of 2005 I used to consider myself an amateur photographer. Until then I had been taking a lot of pictures during my traveling abroad ... I have a huge collection of slides from that period, and I am thinking now that I should post some of those pics on the blog some day ...

Just a month before their wedding, Shannon and Mario had not found an available wedding photographer whose work they liked, and they asked me to shoot their wedding after seeing my vast collection of pictures. They got married in Ft Lauderdale, on the waterfront.

I had a great time documenting their special day as it went by, and I loved the intensity and excitement that goes with photographing a wedding. That day alone I learned my lessons but I also gained so much confidence as I was able to solve each issue I ran into despite the fast pace and the pressure.

The best was the day I gave them their album. It was such a great feeling to see their reaction. Shooting wedding is definitively challenging, but the outcome is also immensely rewarding. After that first experience, I decided to persue wedding photography at a "professional" level.

Here are some pictures of my very first wedding !!!
